Ronahî: The Lebanese Ministry of Health today announced the total death toll from Israeli attacks. According to the ministry, from the second of March to the sixteenth of August, four thousand three hundred forty-six people lost their lives.

Ronahî: Alongside them, according to the same statement, twelve thousand three hundred one people were also wounded. These figures are the cumulative total over those months.

Kamîran: So this is not a one-day figure, this is the accumulation of nearly six months that the ministry is presenting.

Ronahî: Correct. The ministry presented it as a cumulative tally, meaning every death and injury recorded from the beginning of March until now is included.

Ronahî: An execution took place in Iran. The political prisoner Shahram Sadeghi was executed this morning. He had previously been detained in Karaj on the grounds that he participated in the January activities.

Kamîran: And what was the charge that led to the death sentence?

Ronahî: The Revolutionary Court of Karaj convicted him on charges of 'collaboration with the Zionist regime, the United States of America, and enemy groups,' sentencing him to death and confiscating his property. Lawyers appealed to the Supreme Court, but after that court upheld the ruling, the execution was carried out.

Ronahî: In Germany, the number of decisions to cancel or withdraw protection status from Syrian refugees has risen sharply. In the first half of two thousand twenty-six, eight thousand three hundred twenty files of Syrian citizens were reviewed.

Kamîran: How many of them were cancelled?

Ronahî: Twenty-three point two percent of these files had their protection status cancelled or withdrawn. The federal migration and refugee authority has expanded the scope of review in light of changes in Syria since the end of two thousand twenty-four.

Ronahî: And on the same day in Germany, another decision related to Syria was issued. The Federal Court of Justice upheld a life sentence for a Syrian citizen named Ammar al-Mazraani. He had been convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Busra al-Sham in Daraa.

Kamîran: This is a case that has been followed for some time.

Ronahî: Yes. The regional court of Stuttgart convicted him in June two thousand twenty-five, based on the testimony of nearly thirty people.

Kamîran: From the court files we move to a political message. Murat Karayilan from the People's Defence Headquarters issued a message on the occasion of the fifteenth of August.

Ronahî: Yes. Karayilan marked the forty-second anniversary of that day and commented on the Peace and Democratic Society process. He said they want a lasting peace.

Ronahî: In the message he stated that the remaining aspects of the framework law must be passed, meaning the process is not yet complete according to him.

Kamîran: A file we mentioned yesterday has now escalated — three Iranian and Qatari pilots.

Ronahî: Correct. Iran has stepped up its demands. It says three pilots were detained in Qatar after their planes were shot down in the latest regional conflict, and now it wants Qatar to allow a genuine Iranian extraction team to enter the country and check on their situation.

Ronahî: On the other side, Qatar has completely denied detaining Iranian pilots. Doha says its specialist teams took part in search and rescue operations, within legal and humanitarian frameworks. So the two sides have entirely different accounts.

Kamîran: And we close with a commemoration in Shengal.

Ronahî: The Shengal Resistance Units Command issued a written statement on the fifth anniversary of commanders Said Hesen and Isa Xweda. On the sixteenth of August two thousand twenty-one, Said Hesen lost his life while travelling with a delegation from the Shengal Autonomous Administration for a meeting.

Ronahî: One of the commanders of the Shengal Women's Units, Viyan Hebabi, also remembered him and said they were born on this land, lived and fought here. Both organisations pledged in their statements to remain on the same path.
