Ronahî: After Turkey’s parliament passed an enabling law called ‘Strengthening national unity and social cohesion’ on the tenth of August, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan signed it on Monday and it was published in the official gazette.

Ronahî: The law consists of twelve articles and is directly linked to the Peace and Democratic Society process. Turkey’s Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz announced that a new committee has been formed to carry out this law.

Kamîran: What will change because of this law?

Ronahî: The law states that the new committee will work for ‘national unity and social cohesion,’ but so far the names of the members and how it will operate have not been disclosed.

Ronahî: A Kurdish porter from the city of Marivan, after being wounded for nearly a year, lost their life today because of the severity of their injuries.

Ronahî: This porter had been wounded last year by direct gunfire from Iran’s armed forces. Kolbernews reported that the injuries were serious and that to date no one has been prosecuted for those shots.

Kamîran: What is the situation of porters in that region?

Ronahî: According to current information, porters generally work along the Iran border and are frequently exposed to gunfire.

Ronahî: The Kurdistan Human Rights Network reported that in Urmia two Kurdish women were detained without a court order by intelligence forces and their fate remains unknown.

Ronahî: One of the women is Bafrin Ahmedwash, a young woman from the village of Kacheleh in Urmia province. The other woman’s name has not been disclosed, and both have been taken to an unknown location.

Kamîran: Do you have any further information about them?

Ronahî: The Kurdistan Human Rights Network says that so far no information has been given about their condition or the reason for their detention.

Ronahî: Moments ago, the sound of two powerful explosions was heard at the Sulaymaniyah Governorate building and a large fire has broken out.

Ronahî: The fuel depot inside the Sulaymaniyah Governorate building exploded, and no further information has been received yet.

Kamîran: Is this explosion related to the previous fuel depot explosion in Sulaymaniyah?

Ronahî: According to current information, this explosion occurred at the governorate building and no information has been given yet about its cause.

Ronahî: The Kurdistan Region Security Agency announced that seven ISIS members who were hiding in Sulaymaniyah and its surroundings have been detained by its forces and handed over to the relevant authorities of the Iraqi Federal Government.

Ronahî: According to the Security Agency’s statement, these seven individuals were newly detained and no information has been given so far about their names.
