Ronahî: The fighter from the Hesekê Brigade, Sîpan, whose identity name is Samî Şêxmûs Hiso, was abducted yesterday by an armed group and taken towards the village of Edlana near Serêkaniyê.

Ronahî: There he lost his life. From the moment the news spread, protests began in the cities and towns of the province of Hesekê.

Kamîran: So this is not something happening out of sight — people have been in the squares since that day.

Ronahî: In Qamişlo, thousands marched from the Sonî roundabout to the Martyrs’ roundabout and stopped there. The main slogans were condemnation of this crime and calls for accountability from those responsible.

Ronahî: The governor of Hesekê, Nûredîn Ehmed, expressed condolences to the family on the platform X and said he had ordered the security and judicial authorities to track the perpetrators and bring them to justice.

Ronahî: The Democratic Council of Syria issued a written statement calling for a serious and transparent investigation, and according to the council this crime specifically targets the Kurdish people. The council of the city of Zerkan also read a statement in Kurdish and Arabic and made the same call for an investigation.

Ronahî: The deputy defence minister of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, Sîpan Hemo, also known as Semîr Oso, expressed condolences and said the relevant authorities have begun tracking the participants in the incident.

Kamîran: What has not yet been reported must also be said: which armed group is responsible, and what the outcome of this investigation is — there is no answer in the information we have.

Kamîran: Yesterday we spoke about the dissatisfaction with the education decision, and today that file remains open.

Ronahî: The decision of the interim government of the Ministry of Education and Instruction grants only three lessons per week for the Kurdish language. In many areas sit-ins and marches have been held; the protesters’ demand is that Kurdish be recognised constitutionally as a fundamental language.

Ronahî: In the city of Girkê Legê, students and families gathered in front of the School Administration. A statement was read by the student Hêlîn Umer, which called for mother-tongue education.

Kamîran: So the disagreement is not about the existence of the lessons, but about their status.

Ronahî: Indeed. The protesters say a few limited hours do not meet their rights, and their argument is based on the educational principles of UNESCO, according to which everyone can study at school in their mother tongue.

Ronahî: The deputy co-chair of the DEM Party, Tayîp Temel, announced that the party delegation will meet Abdullah Ocalan on İmralı Island on Monday.

Ronahî: The members of parliament Pervîn Buldan, Mîthat Sancar and the lawyer Faîk Ozgur Erol. The last meeting took place on the second of August.

Ronahî: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the Israeli army today shelled the agricultural areas around Beyt El Cinê, west of the Damascus countryside, twice with howitzers.

Ronahî: A few hours earlier, the Bat El Werd hill in the same area had been shelled, and late in the evening the villages of Meriyê in Deraa. So far no information on human casualties has been released.

Ronahî: According to the leadership team member Mustafa Abdî, so far one thousand and ninety-nine displaced families from Serêkaniyê have returned to their homes, and nearly forty-five villages have received their residents back.

Ronahî: In Tehran, the Baha’i citizen Seba Sefîdî was arrested yesterday in front of her home, and she has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison.
