mazdek AI Keyboard
A Kurdish system keyboard for iPhone and Android. Write Kurmancî, Soranî or Kirmanckî in every app, with word suggestions and autocorrect that adds the missing letters. Everything runs on your phone.
Included in the mazdek AI app, version 1.2.6 or newer. About the keyboard
Turn it on on iPhone
- Install or update the mazdek AI app (version 1.2.6 or newer).
- Open Settings → General → Keyboard → Keyboards → Add New Keyboard.
- Choose “mazdek AI Keyboard”. Full Access is not needed.
- In any app, tap and hold the globe key and select mazdek AI Keyboard.
Shortcut: in the app, open Profile → Other tools → mazdek AI Keyboard, tap “Open Settings” and then “Keyboards”.
Turn it on on Android
- Install or update the mazdek AI app (version 1.2.6 or newer).
- In the app, open Profile → Other tools → mazdek AI Keyboard, tap “Turn on” and switch on “mazdek AI Keyboard”.
- Tap “Choose keyboard” and select it.
You can also turn it on in Android Settings → System → Keyboard → On-screen keyboard. Menu names can differ slightly between phone makers.
Languages and layouts
The keyboard has three Kurdish layouts:
Kurmancî
Latin script, with ê, û, ş, î and ç on their own keys. It is the same layout as Apple's built-in Kurmanji keyboard.
Soranî (سۆرانی)
Arabic script, written right to left. The layout is phonetic, like the Windows Central Kurdish keyboard: each letter sits on the Latin key that sounds like it.
Kirmanckî (Zazakî)
The Kurmancî layout plus the letter ı.
To switch language, tap and hold the language key on the keyboard and choose a language from the menu.
Suggestions and autocorrect
While you type, the bar above the keys shows three suggestions; tap one to use it. Words are completed as you type, and in Kurmancî autocorrect adds the missing hats when you finish a word:
kurdistane → Kurdistanê
In Kirmanckî (Zazakî) autocorrect is off: the keyboard only shows suggestions, and you choose.
Undo a correction: press backspace right after the keyboard changed a word, and you get back exactly what you typed.
To turn autocorrect off or on, tap and hold the language key and use the menu.
Your personal dictionary
If you undo the same correction twice, the keyboard learns the word and stops changing it. These words are saved only on your phone, in your personal dictionary. Nothing is learned in password fields.
To clear your dictionary, tap and hold the language key and choose to clear it in the menu.
Privacy
- Everything happens on your phone. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
- The keyboard has no network code, so it also works without internet.
- On iPhone it does not need Full Access.
- Nothing is learned in password fields, and your dictionary stays on the device.
Dark mode and accessibility
The keyboard follows your phone's light or dark mode, and its keys have labels for VoiceOver and TalkBack.
Frequently asked questions
Does the keyboard need internet?
No. Suggestions, autocorrect and the personal dictionary all work on the phone, offline too.
Do I have to allow Full Access on iPhone?
No. The keyboard works fully without it.
Why is there no voice typing on the iPhone keyboard?
Apple does not allow keyboards to use the microphone.
My keyboard disappeared. What do I do?
On iPhone, tap and hold the globe key in any app and select mazdek AI Keyboard again. On Android, tap “Choose keyboard” in the app. If it is not in the list, turn it on again with the steps above.
Which app version do I need?
mazdek AI 1.2.6 or newer, on iPhone or Android. If you don't see the keyboard, update the app from the App Store or Google Play.
