How to Turn Your Lyrics into a Kurdish Song with AI (Dengbêj, Govend, Lorî) in 2026
A practical guide to making a full Kurdish song from your own lyrics: how to structure verses and a chorus, which Kurdish styles to pick — dengbêj, govend, lorî, heyran, saz ballad — what the Standard and Awaza Kurdî modes are for, and what the free and paid plans include.
A dengbêj could turn a story into a song on the spot. For everyone else, getting from a few lines of Kurdish poetry to something you can actually play — at a wedding, in a classroom, in a family group chat — has meant finding a singer, musicians and a studio. The AI music tools that changed this for English mostly do not know what a govend or a lorî is, and they stumble over Kurdish words.
This guide shows how to make a complete Kurdish song from your own lyrics with Stran, the song tool in mazdek AI — what you write, what you choose, and what you get back.
What you need
| You bring | Required? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Lyrics | yesor a topic | Write them yourself, or give a topic and let mazdek AI draft them for you to edit |
| A style | yes | Pick a Kurdish or general style, or describe one in your own words |
| A language | yes | Kurmancî, Soranî, Kirmanckî or 20+ other languages |
| Singing skills, instruments, a studio | no | None |
Step by step
- Open Stran. On the web it is Songs in the menu; in the iOS and Android apps it has its own screen.
- Write the lyrics. Mark the parts with
[Verse]and[Chorus]so the song knows what repeats. Words in (parentheses) are sung as backing vocals. No lyrics yet? Type what the song is about — "missing my village in spring", "a letter to my mother" — and mazdek AI writes original lyrics in the language you chose, which you can then edit. - Pick a style. Each style card explains what it sounds like and what kind of lyrics suit it. Some traditional forms have no chorus at all — the app tells you and asks for stanzas instead.
- Choose the mode. Standard is for trying ideas; Awaza Kurdî is the premium mode for the most authentic Kurdish sound.
- Create. The song is usually ready in one to three minutes. You can leave the page; a notification arrives when it is done.
- Listen, keep, share. Download the audio, export a lyric video, send a link or publish the song.
Styles rooted in Kurdish music
A generic "world music" preset does not make a Kurdish song. Each style in Stran was researched on its own — rhythm, instruments, how the voice moves, which dialect it is traditionally sung in:
| Style | What it is | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Dengbêj | One unaccompanied voice telling a story in free rhythm | Narrative lyrics; no chorus |
| Govend | Davul-and-zurna circle-dance music, call and response | Short, joyful couplets |
| Lorî | A soft lullaby in a slow rocking rhythm | Gentle night-time words |
| Heyran | The unaccompanied lyrical song of Soranî Kurdistan | Three-line stanzas; no chorus |
| Şîn | The lament: a slow solo voice with almost no accompaniment | Grief, farewell, remembrance |
| Saz ballad | A slow ballad led by the tembûr | Longing and quiet love lyrics |
| Kurdish pop | Tembûr and electric saz hooks over a modern groove | Radio-style love songs |
There are more — halparke, hore, siyaçemane, narînk, payîzok, Kurdish maqam, koma rock — and general styles such as pop, rock, acoustic and hip-hop for lyrics in any language.
Standard and Awaza Kurdî
The two modes exist because they answer different needs.
Standard covers every style and comes with a generous monthly allowance, so you can try an idea five different ways without thinking about it.
Awaza Kurdî is the mode to use when the song has to sound Kurdish — the ornaments of a dengbêj voice, the drive of a govend. It can also take its mood from a photo you add. Free accounts get a couple of Awaza Kurdî songs to try; after that it is part of the paid plans or can be used with credit.
Writing lyrics that sing well
- Short lines. A line you can say in one breath is a line that can be sung.
- Let the chorus repeat. Write it once under
[Chorus]and reuse the tag; the repetition is what people remember. - Match the form. A dengbêj kilam is a story, not verse–chorus–verse. A lorî is slow and soft. The style card tells you which form to write.
- Length follows the lyrics. Two verses and a chorus make roughly two to three minutes.
- Use the letters. Write Kurmancî with its î, ê, û, ş and ç — the spell checker restores them in one tap if your keyboard does not have them.
Sharing your song
Every song starts private. From there you can send a link that anyone can open, publish the song to Discover where others can find and save it, or collect songs in playlists. For social media, export a vertical or square lyric video with the words flowing in time with the music.
Two rules keep this fair: every song is labelled as AI-generated, and Stran will not imitate a specific artist — describe the style instead of naming a singer.
Plans and what they include

Try it
Open Songs, paste four lines you have written — or just a topic — pick Govend, and listen to your own words come back as music. The Kurdish song generator page has examples if you want to hear the styles first.
Frequently asked questions
- Is the Kurdish song generator free?
- Yes. The free plan includes 30 Standard songs a month and a few Awaza Kurdî songs to try. Paid plans add more songs in both modes, and Awaza Kurdî can also be used with credit.
- Which Kurdish dialects can it sing?
- Kurmancî, Soranî and Kirmanckî (Zazakî), plus 20+ other languages including Turkish, Arabic, English and German. The lyrics are sung as you write them.
- Do I have to write the lyrics myself?
- No. Give a topic and mazdek AI writes original lyrics in the language you chose, structured into verses and a chorus. You can edit them before creating the song.
- What is the difference between Standard and Awaza Kurdî?
- Standard covers every style with a generous monthly allowance and is ideal for trying ideas. Awaza Kurdî is the premium mode that gives the most authentic result for Kurdish music styles such as dengbêj and govend.
- How long does it take to create a song?
- Usually one to three minutes. You can leave the page — a notification arrives when the song is ready.
- Can it sing in the voice of a famous artist?
- No. Songs cannot imitate a specific artist; describe the style, mood and instruments instead. Every song is labelled as AI-generated.
